A retrofuturistic journey of free folk exploring the shores of our sea.
TransMegaCobla merges traditional Mediterranean culture with contemporary culture to create a fictitious but deeply human and festive universe, like a Kurt Vonnegut or Manuel de Pedrolo novel. Recovering the Phoenician language – through research with the collaboration of Maria Josep Estanyol, the ultimate expert in this dead language – and mixing ancestral rhythmic and harmonic patterns, we look for common roots to merge and remake them with contemporary forms such as rock, punk, free jazz and electronics. A timeless orchestra willing to invent, with real elements, a science fiction Mediterranean in a parallel reality.
